The project revises the idea of the sports container as a high-impact object consequent to its constrained proportions and dimensions, splitting the volumetry in two through a horizontal cut that separates two halves with opposite materiality.

The slippage between the two parts articulates the composition and relationship spaces with the surroundings with introduction of a porch in the public entrance area and a terrace connected to the grandstand’s emergency exit.

For this project, our PanelPiù 500/55 14-wall, mounted in a double skin, was used, which allows greater light diffusion and establishes a relationship with the sky, also thanks to its mimetic ability to reflect different colors and transform chromatically depending on the time of day.

The double skin offers excellent thermal and acoustic insulation values.

This simple gesture in a project with elementary volumetries defines the space of the entrance symbolically protected by the slippage of the lattice system of metal beams and creates a partially covered transitional space where the external path of direct access to the bar located on the second floor is developed.

This ramp/stairs path and the outdoor terrace establish an important overlook to the birch grove that separates the building from the public parking lot.

The two levels represent the relationship with the earth and the sky: a heavy, opaque basement made of precast concrete that roots the building to the ground and protects the play space and a translucent volume made of honeycomb polycarbonate and glass that injects diffuse light and establishes the relationship with the sky, partly due to its mimetic ability to reflect the different colors of the sky and transform chromatically depending on the time of day.

From the juxtaposition of the essence of these two volumes comes the tension of the simple geometries that lends intensity to the intervention.
