The arena is located on a 56,000-square-meter site in the northwestern part of the city, adjacent to Avenida Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek, near the Annual Rodoviario highway and the Eldorado subway station. The total construction area comprises 114,656.99 square meters, with the arena occupying 35 percent, the esplanade 30 percent, preserved green areas 23 percent, and “gardens on natural terrain and paved accesses” 12 percent. The stadium has a seating capacity of 47,000, making it one of the ten largest stadiums in the country at the time of its completion and the sixth largest private stadium.
Major concerts will be held inside the arena, which is equipped with a specialized acoustic system that includes insulating layers and perforated tiles to improve sound quality and protect against noise leakage. Outdoor events, such as performances, will not take place on the stadium esplanade. The design was conceived by architect Bernardo Farkasvölgyi, who has been a consultant to the club. It underwent careful consideration by the city’s municipal assembly and received unanimous approval. Before being considered by the assembly, the project was reviewed by selected committees responsible for Legislation and Justice, Environment, Public Administration, Budget, and Public Finance.
For this project PolyPiù and its partner Polysistem used 20 mm thick CarboPiù honeycomb sheets. These sheets are opal and have a width of 900 mm. A total of 556 sheets were used, each 10 meters long, covering an area of about 5,000 square meters. The profiles are aluminum, 70 mm wide, and the joint points are EPDM rubber.
