For Milan Design Week 2026, Kartell transformed its space on Via Turati into an immersive experience dedicated to contemporary living. With Le Stanze di Kartell, the brand has moved beyond the traditional concept of a temporary installation, creating a narrative apartment in which spaces, furnishings and objects interact to tell a story of everyday life made up of light, relationships and domestic well-being.
The project unfolds as a fluid journey through spaces that evoke different moments of the day: from waking up to the convivial spaces of the evening, each room interprets design as an integral part of daily life. The visual identity of the installation is defined above all by the use of 40 mm 12P CarboPiù multi-wall polycarbonate panels, a solution that has played a central role from both an aesthetic and a design perspective.
The panels, which had previously been used for the DDAY event held in October 2025 at the Kartell Museum, have been salvaged and reimagined as part of a reuse initiative that aligns with the principles of sustainability and circularity, which are becoming increasingly prevalent in the world of design.
Available in shades of pink, light blue, green and bronze, the polycarbonate surfaces helped to create a luminous, layered atmosphere, generating plays of transparency and reflections that amplify the perception of space. In addition to its striking visual impact, the polycarbonate stood out for its technical qualities: its lightness, strength and quick installation made it possible to create flexible and easily reconfigurable walls, perfectly in line with Kartell’s dynamic and contemporary aesthetic.
The result is a domestic space that becomes a sensory experience, where materials and colour help to redefine the relationship between design, function and sustainability.
