To celebrate the excellence of Italian entrepreneurship, a temporary exhibition pavilion with a modern and sustainable design was created by ARW Associates (Botticini + Facchinelli ARW). The “Fabbrica del Futuro” (Factory of the Future) project reinterprets the architectural memory of traditional industrial warehouses in a contemporary key, transforming it into a lightweight, demountable, sustainable structure permeated with natural light.
The entire building was constructed using an off-site wooden structure and PanelPiù 500/40 Opalino multiwall polycarbonate panels, selected for their high technical and aesthetic performance.
The double-wall assembly ensures optimal thermal and acoustic insulation, while the diffuse translucency typical of the material promotes uniform brightness in the interior, transforming the volume into a veritable “urban lantern” at night.
The same PolyPiù polycarbonate solution was also used for the vertical walls and roof, ensuring optimal visual uniformity and remarkable simplicity of construction. The result is a welcoming, efficient space that is fully integrated into the temporary urban context.
The “Fabbrica del Futuro” project has been selected for the Longlist of the Archello Awards 2024 in the Pavilion of the Year – Temporary category: a prestigious award that celebrates the best architectural achievements and the most innovative materials at an international level.
